If science didn't know this, what else don't they understand or know? Today's Mr. or Ms. Science calls truth and scientific consecsus can and likely (if history is a guide) be just become yesterday "World Consecsus" that world is flat. Now you knuckleheads out there understand what I am saying, First Think, then questions, then look for paralells that with time turn out to be false, wrong or uniformed. It's the "practice of science" not the delivery of absolute truth, for that you only have Faith, Hope, and the best use of Commen Sense. Which is so lacking today!
